Phase 1: The Easy Part

Sign up below. Assemble your team and pay the $10 entry fee (Venmo: @Taos-48-FF) for your crew to participate. Then get ready for phase 2, beginning on October 3rd at 5:01PM

Phase 2: October 3rd @ 5:01PM

You and your team will receive an email with 3 prompts you must use in creating your film.

1. A prop, ex: a hammer

2. A line of dialogue ex: "don't put that in there!!"

3. A genre, ex: Musical Thriller!

Phase 3: The Challenge - finish by Oct 5th @ 5:01PM

Write, cast, shoot, edit and submit a short film (10 mins max) within the 48 hour timeframe (Saturday, October 5th at 5:01PM) to taos48hr@gmail.com . We'll screen it on the Big Screen at TCA! Plus, we'll have a meet and greet with the other filmmakers after the screening, so you can meet future collaborators!

About Taos 48 Film Festival

We love film and we love Taos!

So we thought, why not host a film challenge and festival to get our film community hyped about something immediately!?

Something quick & dirty & fun.

SO, on October 13th of 2023, we challenged Taos filmmakers to create a film from script to finish in our first ever 24 hour film festival!

We had several filmmakers submit and screen their films on the TCA's Big Screen!

A grand time was had by all, so we decided to do it again.

On March 15, 2024 we challenged Taos filmmakers again.

This time, with the Ides of March as our presiding spooky theme AND giving filmmakers the more common 48 hours to work on their film.

This year we are teaming up with The Paseo Project and are so pumped and thankful to Paseo Project's hardworking staff & volunteers, to be able to utilize one of the installations for our filmmaking!

We look forward to hosting and participating in our third annual series with our Paseo Passion Picture!
